The Effect

The magician hands a small envelope to a spectator to hold. The magician tells the spectator that the envelope contains a prediction of the card that they are about to select.

The spectator then selects a random card from the deck. The magician removes a clear sheet of acetate from the envelope from the envelope, showing his prediction. But there is more than one card face printed on the acetate. In fact, there is nine.

Admitting that he could have done better, the magician asks the spectator whether their card is among those on the acetate. The spectator says 'Yes'.

Here is where the real magic starts. The spectator is handed the acetate, which they hold between their hands. When they open their hands again to see the acetate, the image of their card has disappeared!

The spectator is then asked to search the deck for their chosen card. It has vanished!

When performing this trick, you can make the spectators chosen card vanish or even have just the card face disappear, leaving the face completely blank!

Thie disappearance is beatifully complete. The entire routine can be stored in a single envelope.

This routine is great for 1 on 1 performances, but can just as easily be performed for groups of people, with them each playing a part in the miraculous feat.
